10 Tips On How To Pass Your Driving Test First Time.
1. Listen clearly to your instructor, they are giving you valuable advice.
2. Don't be afraid or embarraced to ask any questions if you're unsure about something, your instructor can always explain things in a different way.
3. Read and learn your Highway Code. If you know your rules and regulations you will be in a much better position to pass your test first time,
4. Try to take regular training, you will learn much more quickly if you take 2 or more hours per week (if possible), without gaps .
5. Try to get some private practice alongside your lessons with your instructor. This will enhance your professional training and help with continuity.
6. Concentrate the whole time on your test, especially on the way back when you think it's all over, it's not untill you switch off the engine.
7. If you make a mistake, correct it, then carry on and forget it. Don't dwell on the mistake.
8. Keep asking yourself... "Is it safe?"
9. Have a possitive attitude throughout.
10. Think of the test as just another lesson but with someone else.

Since April 6th 2010, the examiners now ask all candidates taking their practical test if they would like to take their instructor/trainer along with them on the test.
This is purely optional. Some candidates feel that the presence of a familiar face in the carcould put them more at ease. Watch this video to help you decide if this is for you or not.
Independent Driving
There will be a 10 minute section to the driving test focusing on the candidates own ability of independent driving, ie no directions from the examiner.
